Do you…
- Struggle with stopping sexually compulsive behaviors?
- Have a pattern of lies and shame around your sex life?
- Compromise your family life or employment status?
- Have an inability to stop visiting pornographic websites?
- Risk HIV exposure due to uncontrollable promiscuity?
- Need in-depth treatment, but cannot afford a month away from work for
residential inpatient care?
For our IOP, the treatment goals are simple and straight forward:
- contain compulsive sexual behaviors
- establish sexual sobriety
- establish an effective relapse prevention plan for long term recovery
Our expert therapists begin with the Patrick Carnes task-centered approach,
followed by EMDR therapy to resolve underlying trauma. Our work is complete when our clients have established a healthy sex life free of shame and secrets.
Through the concerted efforts of our specially trained therapists, treatment goals are addressed through a multi-pronged and holistic approach to treatment.
We make sure our clients understand why they are struggling with addictive
behaviors by providing the best psycho-education possible as we stay current
to the latest neuro-science findings on addiction.
We conduct thorough and comprehensive psychological testing available in Los Angeles that utilizes
the most up-to-date assessment tools and batteries.
Through the use of eye-movement-desensitization-and-reprocessing (EMDR),
we directly address the trauma that underlies sexual addiction.
We ensure our patients establish supportive habits to sustain long-term
recovery and prevent relapse, by requiring attendance of a local twelve-step meeting during each day of IOP treatment.
Based on the researched based strategies of the International Institute
for Trauma and Addiction Professionals (IITAP), the task work we implement has a proven track record for manifesting the results patients are longing for.
- Individualized One-On-One Therapy
Because we understand the nature of sexual addiction, our expert therapists are simultaneously resolute, empathic, and innovative in their individualized one-on-one psychotherapeutic strategies as a way of breaking through the denial that accompanies addiction.
- Post-Intervention Support
By working closely and collaboratively with our patients’ referring therapists, we ensure that post-intervention sobriety and long-term recovery continues as we establish relapse prevention plans and strategies for ongoing support.
- Ancillary Therapeutic Work
Throughout the eleven days of intensive treatment, patients will be prompted to explore topics such as core values, victimization, eroticized rage, guilt, shame, boundaries, compassion, empathy, communication, and healthy relationships. Our treatment to sexual addiction also incorporates mindfulness practices and experiential exercises (such as art therapy and
psychodrama).
